CDP “A List (highest evaluation) for tackling Climate Change”

Each year, CDP collects, analyzes and evaluates information on the environmental activities of major companies around the world and selects the most outstanding companies in terms of climate change-related initiatives and information disclosure for its Climate Change A List. In fiscal 2020, more than 5,800 companies were evaluated, and 270 companies, including 53 Japanese companies, were selected for the A List.

2021 EcoVadis (SILVER Rank)

EcoVadis evaluates supplier companies in 150 industries across 110 countries, based on environment labor practices and human rights fair business practices and sustainable procurement. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. received a SILVER rank in recognition of its achievements in sustainability efforts.

The 2nd ESG Finance Awards Japan “Bronze Award”

The ESG Finance Awards Japan is an award that evaluates and commends initiatives of investor and financial institutions that actively engage in ESG finance and green projects that have had an outstanding impact on the environment and society, and initiatives of companies that identify important environmental opportunities and risks and incorporating them into management strategies to improve their corporate values and the environment. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. received the Bronze Award in the Environmental Sustainable Enterprise category.

GPIF “Excellent Integrated Report” and “Most-improved Integrated Report”

GPIF “Excellent Integrated Report” and “Most-improved Integrated Report” are announced by Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) companies highly evaluated by its external asset managers entrusted with domestic equity investment. The Ajinomoto Group Integrated Report 2020 was announced as one of 77 “Excellent Integrated Report,” and one of 94 “Most-improved Integrated Report.” It was also announced as one of the four companies that received high praise from more than four external asset managers.

Integrated Report Award was established by WICI Japan, a Japanese branch of the World Intellectual Capital/Assets Initiative, to promote integrated reporting actitvities in Japan. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. received Silver Award.

The Consumer-Oriented Business Excellence Awards “The Consumer Affairs Agency Commissioner's Award”

The Consumer-Oriented Business Excellence Awards recognizes the outstanding initiatives by companies that have announced a consumer-oriented voluntary declaration and published the results of their activities. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. received the Consumer Affairs Agency Commissioner's Award in “coexistence with community.”

Semi-Nadeshiko Brand

The Nadeshiko Brand is an initiative aiming to introduce certain Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed companies that are outstanding in terms of encouraging the empowerment of women in workplace as attractive stocks for investors who emphasize improving corporate value in the mid and long term, thereby further accelerating companies’ efforts. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. was selected for the Semi-Nadeshiko Brand.

PRIDE Index 2020 (Gold)

The PRIDE Index evaluates initiatives in the workplace related to LGBTQ and other sexual minorities. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. received “Gold” recognition, the highest ranking in the PRIDE Index 2020.

2021 Health & Productivity Stock Selection

The Health & Productivity Stock Selection is a list of Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed companies chosen for their work in promoting employee health and productivity from a strategic management perspective. Chosen on a one-company-per-industry basis, it aims to promote companies working on Health and Productivity Management(*) and to introduce the selected companies as an attractive investment option for investors who prioritize the improvement of corporate value over the long run. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. was selected to represent the food industry.

The Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program honors organizations with exceptional Health and Productivity Management(*) practices based on their contributions to addressing community health-related challenges and implementing the health awareness efforts of Nippon Kenko Kaigi. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. and Ajinomoto Communications, Inc. were chosen for the White 500 of the large enterprise category.

2020 Japan Packaging Competition “Japan Packaging Institute Award”

The Japan Packaging Competition competes for the excellence of commercialized and sold packages, and is evaluated from various angles such as ease of use, safety and security, and consideration for the environment. “Blendy® Stick Café au Lait Eco Style” received the Japan Packaging Technology Institute Award as a product that tackled the weight reduction of plastics, which has become a social problem in recent years.

2020 Japan Packaging Contest “Technical Packaging Award” “Food Packaging Award”

The Japan Packaging Contest is held annually to encourage the development and adoption of outstanding packaging and packaging technologies. From a total of 398 applications, Steam Me that adopted the pressure steam pouch won the Technical Packaging Award and AJI-NO-MOTO® that reduced the amount of plastic used, and AJI-NO-MOTO® for mail order that used paper as a main packaging material won the Food Packaging Award.

FY2020 Eco Ship / Modal Shift Excellent Businesses “Maritime Bureau Director Award”

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism commends businesses that have made a modal shift from a logistics system centered on land transportation to marine transportation with excellent transportation efficiency and that have contributed particularly to reducing the environmental burden as Eco Ship / Modal Shift Excellent Businesses. F-LINE CORPORATION (logistics company) and Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (shipper) received the Maritime Bureau Director's Commendation as excellent companies.

The Award for Excellent Business Entities Working on Modal Shift announces the business operators that proactively implement modal shifts to promote modal shift by recommending voluntary efforts by logistic companies and raise awareness of their efforts.
