Ajinomoto Announces New President & CEO

March 13, 2009 - Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (Ajinomoto; President & CEO: Norio Yamaguchi, Headquarter: Tokyo Japan) today announced that the proposal of the new President & CEO was approved at the Board of Directors' Meeting held today. Effective end of June 2009, to approval at Ajinomoto Co., Inc. Ordinary General Shareholder's Meeting. End of June 2009 Name New Current Norio Yamaguchi Representative Director, Chairman of the Board Representative Director, President & Chief Executive Officer Name New Current Masatoshi Ito Representative Director, President & Chief Executive Officer Representative Director, Member of the Board & Corporate Senior Vice President <Background> As of year 2009, the turn of the hundred anniversary of the Ajinomoto Group, we will reinforce our management system introducing; - New top management - New corporate governance system As the new top management, Mr. Norio Yamaguchi will become Chairman, and Mr. Masatoshi Ito will assume the position of President & CEO. To reinforce corporate governance, we will implement the followings; 1) Two outside directors (Mr. Uichiro Niwa, Chairman of ITOCHU Corporation, will become one of    them.) 2) Chairman of the Board and two of outside directors will become the members of Nominating    Advisory Committee and Compensation Advisory Committee.
